FAQs

A Temporary Public Network is a professional-grade cellular extension of the Verizon macro network. It provides on-demand 5G and 4G LTE coverage and capacity for locations that require temporary cellular coverage with high-performance connectivity for a defined duration.

No. This solution utilizes Verizon’s secure licensed spectrum. Unlike Wi-Fi, which operates on unlicensed frequencies prone to interference, Temporary Public Network uses the same carrier-grade infrastructure as our permanent macro network. Any device with a standard Verizon SIM connects automatically to the public network extension without the need for complex onboarding or splash pages.

Temporary Public Network is engineered to provide capacity injection for massive surges in users (e.g., festivals or sporting events) and coverage expansion for remote or new locations where permanent
infrastructure is limited. It provides a reliable temporary business internet connection for critical needs like point-of-sale systems and event operations.

The backhaul connects the on-site temporary asset to the broader Verizon network. We offer flexible options to ensure optimal performance:

  • Verizon-provided: We can facilitate the connection using our own rapid-deployment technology, such as satellite or microwave links.
  • Customer-provided: In select markets, customers may have the option to provide a dedicated on-site fiber connection. Availability for this option is determined during
the initial technical assessment.

Our goal is to make the on-site experience seamless; once assets are staged at your location, we can typically have the network operational in less than 24 hours. To ensure this rapid on-site setup, Verizon initiates a comprehensive engineering and readiness phase prior to the event. During this period, our experts handle the heavy lifting—including RF design, site surveys, and all necessary regulatory filings—to ensure your network is ready for Day 1.

The specific assets are tailored to your project’s scope during the planning phase. Depending on your requirements and the results of our site survey, equipment can range from smaller, highly portable units to larger assets designed to provide massive network capacity for major venues.

The commercial offering is targeted for short term internet needs ranging from 3 days to 6 months - longer terms are possible. It is a service-based model designed for transient needs and is not intended as a permanent replacement. Explore our Connectivity solutions here.

This is a fully managed service. Verizon handles the planning and deployment, followed by 24/7 monitoring via our Network Operations Center (NOC). This remote management ensures hardware health and connectivity performance throughout the duration of your event or project.
